Partnership / 03

Built for the hard middle.

Tensor brings together industrial commercialization and systems engineering. We help founders cross the distance between a technically valid machine and a company the market cannot ignore.

Commercial architecture / Systems execution / Seed conviction

The partnership

Two operating lenses. One standard for evidence.

Physical-system founders face two unforgiving tests: the machine must work under real constraints, and the market must value the outcome enough to deploy it repeatedly. Tensor is organized around both.

Founding Partner

Darshit Joshi

Capital efficiency is not financial hygiene. In physical industries, it is a distribution weapon.

Darshit Joshi is a Founding Partner at Tensor Partners, where he builds the commercial systems that turn intelligence-heavy products into durable industrial businesses. Across more than a decade in sales, business development, and real asset markets, he learned how enterprise buyers adopt new infrastructure, how complex procurement is won, and why technical superiority matters only when it survives the buying process.

Before Tensor, Darshit served as Senior Vice President of Sales and Business Development at The Zero Group and held foundational leadership roles at Kunvarji Realty Advisors and 360 Realtors LLP. His operating history spans asset-heavy, regulated markets where distribution, unit economics, and execution discipline determine whether a product becomes infrastructure or remains a demonstration.

At Tensor, Darshit works with founders from the first design partner through repeatable deployment. He helps teams connect engineering milestones to customer economics, price risk correctly, build enterprise pipelines, and prove that a lower-cost system can expand a market rather than merely discount it.

Operating history

01

The Zero Group

SVP, Sales and Business Development

Built commercial and distribution engines for early ventures moving toward repeatable scale, with a focus on strategic partnerships and disciplined unit economics.

02

Real assets and enterprise scaling

Operator

Navigated long sales cycles, regulated transactions, and the deployment of tangible assets across markets where execution risk is visible and expensive.

03

Commercialization architecture

Founder partner

Translates technical progress into buyer value, deployment milestones, and revenue systems that can compound without permanent founder intervention.

Point of view

Hardware complexity is too often presented as a moat when it is actually a liability. The defining physical technologies of this decade will substitute expensive apparatus with abundant software intelligence. Raise capability per deployed dollar and you do more than win a category. You expand the market itself.

Partner

Vishal Dharwad

Ambition and honesty are complements. The best technical founders practice both at full scale.

Vishal Dharwad is a Partner at Tensor Partners, bringing deep engineering leadership and systems-level execution to the partnership. At Apple, where he rose to Senior Engineering Manager, he led teams working at the boundary of software, hardware, and production reliability. That experience shaped his belief that category-defining machines are rarely won by adding components. They are won by extracting more from a disciplined architecture.

Vishal first imagined a career building performance cars at Ferrari. When that path closed to international students, he redirected the same obsession with machines toward software-defined systems. The detour became a durable investing lens: constraints do not reduce ambition when they force a stronger architecture.

He works closely with technical founders through seed-stage ambiguity, from system design and engineering organization to product narrative and the search for product-market fit. Vishal expects billion-dollar ambition and 10x outcomes, but he values intellectual honesty just as highly. Unknowns should be named, weak evidence should be challenged, and a compelling story must eventually resolve into field performance.

Operating history

01

Apple

Senior Engineering Manager

Led engineering teams delivering high-reliability hardware and software integration at global scale, under tight performance and production constraints.

02

Systems architecture

Engineering leader

Built and shipped complex software-defined systems, with a focus on the points where compute, sensing, reliability, and physical design trade against one another.

03

Seed-stage company building

Founder partner

Helps technical teams convert sparse early evidence into an ambitious product narrative, a falsifiable roadmap, and a system that can scale.

Point of view

I want founders aiming for billion-dollar revenues and moonshot outcomes, but moonshots require radical honesty. If product-market fit is not there yet, say so. If an answer is unknown, own it. Story earns the first believers. Deployment earns the market.

Shared mandate

The intelligence layer is the leverage.

01

Robotics and autonomy

Perception, planning, manipulation, and control systems that allow useful machines to operate through uncertainty, not only inside controlled environments.

02

Industrial intelligence

Software-defined inspection, production, maintenance, and material movement that improve throughput without demanding a greenfield facility.

03

Edge systems

Compute, sensing, and inference architectures that deliver fast, resilient decisions where bandwidth, power, and infrastructure are constrained.

04

Accessible instruments

Scientific, clinical, agricultural, and cultural systems that replace scarce equipment with distributed intelligence and radically wider access.

For founders

Bring the hard question first.
