Capability per dollar is the metric that compounds
Lower hardware cost is only the first-order effect. Wider deployment accelerates learning, distribution, and the rate at which a system earns the right to become infrastructure.
Physical technology is often evaluated through peak performance: the highest precision, the fastest cycle, the most sophisticated sensor stack. Those benchmarks matter, but they are incomplete. A machine creates economic value only when a customer can deploy it, operate it, and justify buying the next one.
Tensor evaluates capability per deployed dollar. The numerator includes accuracy, throughput, resilience, and the range of work a system can perform. The denominator includes more than the bill of materials. It captures installation, calibration, infrastructure, operator skill, maintenance, and the working capital consumed before a useful result appears.
A better ratio changes the company. Lower deployment friction puts more systems in the field. More systems generate more operating data. More data improves the intelligence layer, which expands capability without proportionally expanding hardware. The loop can compound faster than a conventional manufacturing learning curve.
This is why frugality is not a niche-market concession. When a technical insight removes a zero from system cost while preserving the outcome, the addressable market does not simply become cheaper. It becomes larger, faster, and structurally more learnable.
Better systems do not hide complexity. They decide where complexity belongs.
